Türkiye'de hayat sigortasının gelişim süreci

Abstract

Risklerin çeşitlenerek arttığı dünyamızda sigortacılık, özellikle de fon yaratma özelliğiyle hayat sigortacılığı ekonomik ve sosyal yönden gelişmiş ülkelerin vazgeçilmez unsurlarından biridir. Geçmişi eski Yunan ve Romalılara kadar uzanan hayat sigortacılığının Türkiye’deki seyrinin yer yer dini inanış ve toplumsal değer yargılarıyla birlikte ele alındığı çalışmada, ağırlık gerçek anlamda sigortacılığın başladığı kabul edilen 1950’li sonrasına verilmiştir. Ancak yaşananları anlayabilmek ve konuya açıklık getirebilmek adına Osmanlı Dönemindeki hayat sigortalığı ile 1950’ler öncesine de ana hatlarıyla değinilmiştir. Öte sigortacılığın olmazsa olmaz unsuru olan aktüerya konusunda gelişmeler de taşıdığı öneme istinaden ayrı başlık altında ele alınmıştır.

In our world where risks are diversified and increasing, insurance, especially life insurance with its fund-raising feature, is one of the indispensable elements of economically and socially developed countries. In the study, in which the course of life insurance in Turkey, whose history goes back to the ancient Greeks and Romans, is discussed together with religious beliefs and social value judgments, the weight is given to the post-1950s, when it is accepted that insurance business started in real terms. However, in order to understand what happened and to clarify the subject, life insurance in the Ottoman Period and before the 1950s were also mentioned in general terms. On the other hand, developments in actuary, which is an indispensable element of insurance, are also discussed under a separate heading, based on their importance.
