dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.

dc.description.abstractHardal grubu 1970’li yılların sonlarına doğru, Türkçe müzikteki Anadolu Rock akımının popülaritesi gitgide azalırken 1976 yılında kurulmuştur. Vokalde Şükrü Yüksel, bas gitarda Aydın Şencan, davulda Sedat Avcı, gitarda ve vokalde Cahit Kukul vardır. Grubun ilk albümleri “Nasıl? Ne Zaman” 1980 senesinde piyasaya çıkmıştır ve büyük ilgi görmüştür. 1981 yılında çalışmaya başladıkları "Nereden Nereye" albümü, darbe atmosferi ve ekonomik zorluklar nedeniyle iki yıl gecikerek 1983 yılında ancak çıkabilmiştir. Ancak bu albüm, ilk albümden daha az satılmış, 1984 yılında grubun dağılmasına bir zemin hazırlamıştır. Cahit Kukul’un ilk iki albümden seçtiği şarkılarla 1994 yılında yayınladığı derleme “Seçmeler” albümü ile Hardal tekrardan plak piyasasına giriş yapmıştır. Şükrü Yüksel yurt dışından döndükten sonra yeni üyeler toplayarak Hardal’ı tekrardan kurmuştur. Yeni Hardal ekibi 1999 yılında “Yeniden Doğuş” albümü ile tekrardan piyasa giriş yapmış olsa dahi çeşitli nedenlerden ötürü piyasaya tutunamamış ve tekrardan dağılmışlardır.
dc.description.abstractHardal was founded in 1976, when the popularity of the Anatolian Rock movement in Turkish music was rapidly decreasing towards the end of the 1970s. The band consisted of Şükrü Yüksel on vocals, Aydın Şencan on bass guitar, Sedat Avcı on drums, Cahit Kukul on guitar and vocals. The first album of the band “Nasıl? Ne Zaman?” was released in 1980 and attracted great attention. The album "Nereden Nereye", which they started to work on in 1981, was delayed by two years due to the economic difficulties caused by the 1980 coup, was released in 1983. However, this album sold less than the first album, paving the way for the band's disbandment in 1984. With the compilation album "Seçmeler", which was released in 1994 with the songs chosen by Cahit Kukul from the first two albums, Hardal re-entered the record market. After Şükrü Yüksel returned from abroad, he gathered new members and re-established Hardal. The new Hardal, released their new album "Yeniden Doğuş" in 1999. However, they could not hold on to the market for various reasons and dispersed again.
