Maltass mansion and the Levantine culture

Abstract

This research paper focuses on the Maltass Mansion, one of the last standing testaments to Levantine culture and its significance to Levantine heritage in Izmir. The paper talks about the architecture of the building, and how Levantine architecture has influenced, and was influenced by local architecture. Furthermore, this paper also focuses on the lives of the residents the Maltass mansion has seen throughout the decades, their lives, and their historical significance.

Bu araştırma makalesi, Levanten kültürünün ayakta kalmış en son temsilcilerinden olan Maltass Köşk'ünü ve köşkün Levanten mirası üzerindeki önemini konu alıyor. Makalede köşkün mimarisi yapısı ve bu yapının diğer mimari yapıları nasıl etkilediği ve onlardan nasıl etkilendiği belirtilmiştir. Buna ek olarak, makalede şimdiye kadar köşkte ikamet etmiş olan Levantenler'in hayatlarına ve tarihi önemlerine de odaklanılmıştır.
