dc.description.abstract | 1948 yılında Zonguldak ilinin Çatalağzı beldesinde kurulan Çatalağzı Termik Santrali A ünitesi (ÇATES A) döneminin en büyük sanayi yatırımlarından biri olmasını yanı sıra Türkiye'nin elektrik üretimi için attığı ilk adım olmuştur. Kırk üç sene boyunca Anadolu'yu aydınlatan ÇATES A, ekonomik ömrünü 1991 yılında tamamlamıştır.
dc.description.abstract | Çatalağzı Termal Power Plant unit A (ÇATES A) which is established in 1948 in Çatalağzı, a town in Zonguldak, was not only one of the biggest industrial investments but also it was the first step that Turkey has taken in production of electricity. ÇATES A has provided electricity through Anatolia for 43 years. In 1991 it has completed its economic lifespan. After that, in the same year ÇATES B has started to produce electricity. Due to the economic and social changes ÇATES was privatized in 2014. In the recent years the effects of ÇATES on the environment and the society has become the main topic of conversation rather than the contributions to the production of electricity. The plant, which was sealed on the grounds that there is no filter in its chimneys, has not been operating since January 2020.
