At the end of 2005 and the beginning of 2006, Avian Influenza (Bird Flu) became widespread in various cities in Turkey due to interactions between migratory birds and poultry. In our study, the Bird Flu outbreak in Turkey was analyzed from multiple perspectives. These sections were primarily divided into the general characteristics and global history of the virus, how Bird Flu entered Turkey, the various impacts it had on the country, and the steps taken by the government to prevent or mitigate these effects. Additionally, our study benefited from an interview conducted with Mehdi Eker, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs at the time and interview conducted with employee of Ministry of Health.
