| dc.description | The History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards. | en_US |

| dc.description.abstract | Batum’daki Müslüman nüfusun yoğunluğundan rahatsızlık duyan Rusya bölgede bulunan Müslümanlar üzerindeki yaptırımları arttırmıştır. 93 harbinden sonraki süreç ile birlikte, bölgedeki birçok Müslüman aile Türkiye’ye göç etmeye mecbur bırakılmıştır. Batum’dan Türkiye’ye göç eden ailelerin yüzleştiği sıkıntılar bu meşakkatli yolculuğun göstergesidir. Mehmet Yemiş ve ailesi bu süreci bire bir tecrübe etmiş ve Batum’dan Türkiye’ye zorunlu olarak göç ettirilmiştir. Bu çalışmada Yemiş ailesinin Batum’daki yaşamları, göç sürecindeki yaşadıkları olaylar, Türkiye’deki yaşam zorlukları ve kültürel etkileşimleri anlatılmıştır. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | Disturbed by the intensity of the Muslim population in Batumi, Russia increased the pressure on the Muslims in the region. After the “War of ’93”, many Muslim families in the region have been forced to immigrate to Turkey. Difficulties faced by families who emigrated from Batumi to Turkey are an indication of this arduous journey. Mehmet Yemiş and his family had experienced this process and were displaced from Batumi to Turkey on a mandatory basis. In this study, the life of Yemiş family in Batumi, the things happened through the immigration, the life difficulties in Turkey and cultural interactions have been examined. | en_US |
