dc.description.abstract1886 yılında Frerler tarafından kurulmuş olan Saint Michel Fransız Lisesi günümüzde İstanbul’un Şişli semtinde bulunmaktadır. II. Abdülhamit Dönemi’nde Türk eğitim yapısında yapılan değişikliklerle birlikte yabancı okullarla ilgili yapılan düzenlemelerden de etkilenen Saint Michel, I. Dünya Savaşı esnasında hastane olarak faaliyet göstermeye devam etmiştir. Cumhuriyet Dönemi’nde 1924’te Tevhid-i Tedrisat Kanunu’nun ilan edilmesiyle beraber okul müfredatı Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı’na bağlanmış ve Türkiye’de eğitim bütünlüğü sağlanmıştır. Lasallian eğitim anlayışını benimseyen Saint Michel, Lasallian eğitim sistemine özgü değerleri yaşatmaya devam etmekte ve Türk Fransız kültür sentezi içerisinde pek çok aydın öğrenci yetiştirmektedir.
Saint Michel French High School which was founded in 1886, today located in İstanbul Şişli, was turned into a hospital during World War I. The high school was affected by the changes made in the Turkish education structure as well as the changes made in the legislation regarding the foreign schools during the II. Abdulhamid Era. With the declaration of the Law of Unification of Education in the Republican Era, the school curriculum started to get monitored by the Ministry of National Education in 1924. Adopting the Lasallian education approach, Saint Michel keeps the values of the Lasallian education system alive and educates many intellectual students within the synthesis of Turkish and French culture.
