dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.en_US
dc.description.abstractBu makalede, ODTÜ Makine Mühendisliği bölümünün ilk mezunlarından olan ve hâlen Bilkent Üniversitesi’nde yarı zamanlı öğretim üyesi olan Prof. Dr. Ömer Anlağan’ın eğitim hayatı ve 1995-2010 yılları arasındaki kariyeri konu edilmiştir. Anlağan, alanının önde gelen isimlerinden biridir ve kariyeri boyunca birçok ilke imza atmıştır. Türkiye’de önemli üniversiteler ve kurumlardaki başarılarıyla ulusal boyutta makine mühendisliğini ileriye taşımıştır. Makale kapsamında Anlağan’ın bu yenilikçi çalışmaları incelenmiştir.
dc.description.abstractThis article focuses on Prof. Dr. Ömer Anlağan's educational background and career as one of the first graduates of the Mechanical Engineering department at Middle East Technical University (METU) and a part-time faculty member at Bilkent University. Anlağan is a well known figure in his field, having achieved numerous milestones between 1995 and 2010. With his outstanding achievements at Turkey's leading universities and institutions, he has significantly advanced the field of mechanical engineering at the national level. This article looks at Anlağan's innovative work in this context.
