Denizli tekstilciliği ve DEBA

Abstract

1930-2000 yılları arasında tekstil sektöründe önemli atılımlar yapıldı ve devlet teşvikiyle birçok fabrika açıldı. Tarih boyunca tekstilin Denizli için önemli bir geçim kaynağı olması ve yüksek potansiyeli, Denizli’nin bu dönemde ön plana çıkan şehirlerden birisi olmasını sağladı. Küçük ve büyük ölçekli birçok fabrika açılıp bu fabrikalar arasında en büyük etki yaratan ise Denizli Basma ve Boya Sanayi (DEBA) oldu. DEBA üretim kalitesi ve kapasitesi ile Türkiye’deki tekstil sektörüne yön verdi ve yaptığı ihracatlar ile Türkiye tekstilini uluslararası alanda temsil etti. 2000’li yıllara gelindiğinde ise baş gösteren ekonomik krizler, dış borç yükü gibi nedenlerden ötürü DEBA, iflas sürecine girdi. DEBA’nın iflası ekonomik anlamda Denizli tekstil sektörüne zarar verdi ve istihdam problemlerinin ortaya çıkmasına neden oldu.

Between 1993 and 2000, significant advancements in the textile industry were made and many factories were established through government incentives. The great importance of textiles for the livelihood of Denizli in history and its great potential made Denizli come into prominence. Many small and big factories are established and the one with the greatest impact is Denizli Basma ve Boya Sanayi (DEBA). With its quality and capacity of production, DEBA shaped Turkey's textile sector and with the imports made by DEBA. It represented Turkish textiles on an international scale. With the economic crises that arose in the 2000s and external debts, DEBA entered a bankruptcy process. DEBA’s bankruptcy harmed Denizli's textile sector and triggered employment issues.
