dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.

dc.description.abstractKonrad Adenauer'in Federal Almanya Başkanı seçilmesi ile Türk-Alman ilişkileri yeni bir boyut kazanmıştır. İşgücü anlaşmasının da hayata geçmesini sağlayan Konrad Adanaeuer, hem Türk hem Alman siyaseti açısından önemli bir kişiliktir. Almanya merkezli Konrad Adenauer Vakfı, faaliyet gösterdiği ülkelerde demokrasi ve ekonomik kalkınma üzerine çalışmaktadır. Vakfın Türkiye şubesi de aynı ilkeyle hem Türkiye'yi hem de Türk-Alman ilişkilerini geliştirmek üzere faaliyet göstermektedir. Konrad Adenauer adı iyi niyet göstergesi olarak Ankara Büyükşehir Belediye Başkanlığı tarafından Ankara'da bir caddeye verilmiştir.
dc.description.abstractWith the election of Konrad Adenauer as President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Turkish-German relations gained a new dimension. Konrad Adenauer is an important personality both for Turkish and German politics, considering his contributions to Labor Agreement and other developments. The German-based Konrad Adenauer Foundation works on democracy and economic development in many countries. The Turkey branch of the foundation operates on the same principles as well as to improve the Turkish-German relations. A street in Ankara was given the name of Konrad Adenauer by the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality as a sign of good intent.
