Türkiye'de bir öncü Mithat Giyim ve: Mithat Gürsoy

Erken yaşta Aksaray’da terzilik mesleğiyle tanışan Mithat Gürsoy ilginç sayılabilecek eğitim hayatı ve azmiyle 20. yüzyıl Türkiyesi’nin önde gelen tekstil şirketlerinden olan Mithat Giyim’i kurmuştur. Türkiye’de değişen ve gelişen tekstil sektörünün yarattığı yeni olanaklar ışığında kuruluşundan kısa süre sonra şirket birçok ilke imza atmış ve bir ivme kazanmıştır. Bu bağlamda Mithat Giyim’i daha iyi analiz etmek için Türk tekstil sektörünü de kapsayan bir araştırma yapılmıştır. Şirketin başına ikinci kuşağın geçmesi ile Mithat Giyim parlak dönemlerinden uzaklaşmıştır. İlerleyen dönemlerde ise iyice kötüleşen mali durumlardan dolayı şirket kapatılmıştır. Bu çalışma ise Mithat Gürsoy’un erken yaşamından başarıya ulaşmasının arkasındaki etkenleri ve Mithat Giyim’in şirket olarak yükselişinin ve değer kaybedişinin arkasındaki olayları Türkiye’deki tekstil sektürünü de baz alarak açıklamaya çalışmaktadır.

Starting his career as a tailor in Aksaray from his early ages, Mithat Gürsoy found one of the most successful textile companies in the 20th century Turkey named “Mithat Giyim”. With the help of his education, determination and also using the potentials of new-born Republican Turkish textile sector; Mithat Giyim climbed the ladders of success in a short time after it’s establishment. At this point, this paper takes a look at Turkish textile sector in order to analyze Mithat Giyim. However, since the company started to rule by the second generations of Gürsoy’s, firm started to lose value. In 2000s, as the economic conditions got worse for the company; managers found the only solution as shutting down Mithat Giyim. Mainly, this research tries to explain Mithat Gürsoy’s life, his way to success and how his company gained value and lost it with the help of development of Turkish textile sector.
