Abstract

27 Mayıs 1960 darbesinden 3 ay önce Kayseri iline bağlı Yeşilhisar ilçesinde başlayan Cumhuriyet Halk Partisi ve Demokrat Parti destekçileri arasındaki gerginlikler ve buna bağlı olarak Ankara’ya yansımaları, darbeye giden süreci hızlandıran önemli etkenlerdendir. İlçede iki parti mensubu arasında başlayan kişisel husumetin çatışmaya dönmesi sonucu gelişen gösterilerin ve tutuklamaların incelenmesi için ilçeye gelmeye çalışan İsmet İnönü’ye engel olunmuştur. Cumhurbaşkanı ile Başbakan arasında gerçekleşen yazışmalar ve İçişleri Bakanının olayları yakından takip etmesi, darbeden sonraki süreçte Yassıada Mahkemeleri’ne konu olmuştur. Bu çalışmada, 1960 yılının mart ayında Yeşilhisar’da gerçekleşen hadiselerde, ilçedeki gösteriler ve tutuklamaların devamında İsmet İnönü’nün ziyaretinin 27 Mayıs sürecine olan etkileri ele alınmıştır. The tensions between the supporters of the Cumhuriyet Halk Partisi and the Demokrat Parti, which took place in the Yeşilhisar district of Kayseri in the process leading up to the coup of May 27, 1960, and their reflections on Ankara, are among the important factors that accelerated the process. İsmet İnönü, who tried to come to the district to examine the demonstrations and arrests that developed as a result of the personal enmity that started between the two party members in the district, was prevented. The correspondence between the President and the Prime Minister and the fact that the Minister of Interior followed the events closely became the subject of the Yassıada Courts in the period after the coup. In this study, the effects of İsmet İnönü's visit on the 27th of May, in the events that took place in Yeşilhisar in March 1960, in the continuation of the demonstrations and arrests in the district are discussed.
