dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.en_US

dc.description.abstractKivi meyvesi, tarımsal alanda gelişmiş ve gelişmekte olan pek çok ülkenin üretim faaliyetlerine geçtiği ve ihracat ve ithalat kapılarını tüm Dünya’ya açmış bir meyvedir. Uzun zamandır Dünya’da tüketilen bu meyvenin tarihsel anlamda Türkiye’ye gelişini, tüketime kadar geçirdiği evrimleri ve ne şartlarda Türkiye’ye ulaştığını bilmek, kivi üreticiliğini anlamak açısından önemlidir. Tarımsal alanda uygun topraklara sahip olan Türkiye, kivi yetiştiriciliği için büyük bir potansiyele sahiptir. Fındık ve çay gibi Karadeniz Bölgesi’nin gözdesi ürünlerin yanında üretime geçilen kivinin Dünya’da yayılışı, üretim aşamasında geçirdiği süreçler, verimli mahsuller elde edilmesi için gerekli şartlar ve ekonomide Türkiye adına nasıl bir paya sahip olduğu, detaylıca incelenmiştir. Bu incelemelerde Organik Meyve üreticiliği Başkanı Mehmet Gürkan, Giresun İl Gıda, Tarım ve Hayvancılık Müdürlüğü ziraat mühendisi şaduman Keser üçüncü ve Keşap Fındık üreticileri Birliği başkanı Musa Sabırlı ile röportaj yapılmıştır. Kivi üreticiliği ve Türkiye’deki durumu hakkında kilit sorulara alınan cevaplar doğrultusunda ekonomiye daha fazla katkıda bulunabilmesi için öneriler verilmiş, Türkiye’deki gelişimi incelendiğinde kivinin nasıl daha çok getirisinin olabileceğine yönelik çözüm odaklı fikirler sunulmuştur.en_US
dc.description.abstractKiwifruit is one of the fruits which is being processed by many developed or developing countries.Thus, this fruit, stimulates its trade between countries. Since kiwifruit is very popular around the world, it is important to know how Turkey meets kiwifruit and adapts it for their land's conditions. Turkey also has a great potential for kiwifruit as it has an important role for worldwide agriculture. Thus, Kiwifruit's spreading in the world, its steps, its optimal environment and economic contribution to Turkey were examined. In this examination, Mehmet Gürkan the president of Organik Meyve üreticiliği, şaduman Keser üçüncü who is agricultural engineer of Giresun İl Gıda, Tarım ve Hayvancılık Müdürlüğü and Musa Sabırlı the head of Keşap Fındık üreticileri Birliği were interviewed. After important questions and answers in order to contribute to economy, important ideas were presented.en_US
