| dc.description | The History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards. | |

| dc.description.abstract | Bu çalışma, İngiltere Kraliçesi II. Elizabeth’in 1971 Askerî Muhtıra sonrasında gerçekleşen Türkiye ziyaretini ve muhtemel nedenlerini inceleyecektir. İngiltere Kraliçesi II. Elizabeth’in Türkiye’ye gerçekleştirdiği toplamda üç tane ziyareti bulunmaktadır. Ziyaretlerin üçü de Türkiye’nin politik kargaşa içinde olduğu dönemlerdedir. Bu nedenle Kraliçe’nin ziyaretlerinin altında politik nedenler yattığı düşünülmektedir. Bu çalışmada 1971 ziyaretinin, dönemin Türkiye politikasına olan etkilerine de yer verilecektir. Literatür taramasından ve kraliçenin 1971 ziyareti sırasında çekilen bir belgeselden faydalanılacaktır. | |
| dc.description.abstract | This study well examine Queen Elizabeth II's visit to Turkiye after the 1971 Military Memorandum and its possible reasons. Queen Elizabeth II of England visited Turkiye three times. All three of the visits coincided with periods when Turkiye was in political turmoil. For this reason, people think that political reasons lie behind the Queen's visits. Additionally, the effects of the 1971 visit of Queen Elizabeth II on Turkiye's politics of the period will be included in this study. A literature review and a documentary taken during the Queen's visit in 1971 will be used. | |
