dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.en_US

dc.description.abstractBu çalışmada, Et ve Süt Kurumunun, eski adıyla Et ve Balık Kurumunun, 1980 yılından günümüze kadar olan gelişim süreci; kuruluş sürecini ve kurumun genel amaçlarını da kapsayarak ele alınmıştır. Araştırma; Et ve Süt Kurumunun hedefleri ve görevleri, özelleştirilme ve tekrar kamulaştırma süreci, üretim alanlarındaki değişiklik nedeniyle isminin değiştirilmesi, kurumdaki ürünlerin satışı, dağıtımı ve kurumun yaptığı ithalat ve ihracat olarak beş ana madde altında incelenmiştir. Ek olarak kurum hakkında medyada çıkan skandallara ve bunların gerçeklik payının ne kadar olduğuna, bu skandalların kurumun itibarının halkın gözünde zedelenip zedelenmediğine de yer verilmiştir.en_US
dc.description.abstractThis study approaches the development process of Meat and Milk Board (known as Meat and Fish Institution) after the year of 1980 with containing the institution’s process of founding and its basic purposes. The paper studies 5 main areas: the objectives of Meat and Milk Board, the process of privatization and expropriation again, its name change after the shift in the areas of produce they specialized in, the sale and distribution of the produce from the institution, and its imports and exports. The scandals that the institution has been involved in that has appeared in the media, as well as the validity of such news with regard to the institution’s reputation in the eyes of the public has also been touched upon.en_US
