dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.en_US

dc.description.abstractBu tarih çalışmasında uygulamalı matematik alanında çalışmalar yapmış, dünyada ve Türkiye’de pek çok başarıya imza atmış olan matematikçi Haydar Bulgak’ın hayatı anlatılmak-tadır. Araştırmamız Haydar Bulgak’ın ailesinin sürgün yıllarından başlayıp, doğumu, çocuk-luğu, öğrencilik hayatı, matematiğe yönelişi, özel hayatı ve akademik çalışmalarını kapsayarak günümüze kadar gelen Haydar Bulgak’ın hayat hikayesini anlatır. Araştırmamızda kendisiyle yaptığımız röportajdan ve bulduğumuz diğer kaynaklardan yararlandık.en_US
dc.description.abstractThis history study is done over biography of Mathematician Haydar Bulgak who has done studies in applied mathematics and achieved many successes in the worldwide. This his-tory research begins with Haydar Bulgak's family's exile and examines the life story of Haydar Bulgak up to the present day. Examination of the life story of Haydar Bulgak includes his birth, childhood, student life, predisposition to mathematics, private life and academic studies. Per-sonal interview with him and external sources about his life were used in this history study.en_US
