Geçmişten günümüze İncesu Deresi

Abstract

İncesu Deresi, Ankara’nın imarı sırasında 1930’larda yer yer kapatılmaya başlandı ve 1950’lerden sonra Ankara’nın diğer dereleriyle birlikte ıslah çalışmaları sonucunda büyük çoğunluğuyla yol altında kaldı. İncesu’nun asfalt yol altına alınması kanalizasyon olarak kullanılmasına da olanak tanıdı. Bu müdahaleler sonucunda, eskiden şehrin içerisinden geçen ve başkentin sosyal hayatında yeri olan İncesu deresi bugün ölmeye yüz tutan bir dere hâline geldi. Bu makale, İncesu Deresinin Cumhuriyet sonrasındaki tarihini, kapatılmasının toplum sağlığı ve şehir imarı açısından nedenlerini, toplum hayatına etkilerini ve üstünün geri açılması için yapılan çalışmaları inceliyor. İncesu River began to be closed in the 1930s during the construction of Ankara, and after the 1950s, most of it remained under the road as a result of the reclamation worksalong with other streams of Ankara. Placing İncesu under an asphalt road also allowed it to be used as a sewer system. As a result of these interventions, İncesu river, which used to pass through the city and had a place in the social life of the capital, has become a stream that is about to die today. This article examines the history of İncesu River after the Republic, the reasons for its closure in terms of public health and city development, its effects on social life, and the efforts made to reopen it.
