Çağdaş yaşamı destekleme derneğinin 1999 depremine uzattığı el

Bu makalede, 1989 yılında altı kişilik yönetim kadrosuyla kurulan ve çağdaş eğitim yoluyla çağdaş toplumun oluşturulmasını gaye edinmiş Çağdaş Yaşamı Destekleme Derneği’nin 1999 depremi ile olan ilişkisi anlatılmaktadır. Çoğunlukla eğitim sorununu çözmek için faaliyet gösteren bu derneğin 1999 depremi sonrası yaptığı yardımlar çalışmamızın odak noktası olacaktır. Yardımların ne kadar değerli olduğunu görmek için 1999 depremi ve depremin bölgeler ve depremzedeler üzerindeki etkilerini; depremin etkilediği spesifik bölgeler, bölgede görülen hasar, maddi zararlar ve bölge halkı üzerinde depremin yarattığı psikolojik etkiler araştırılarak depremin büyüklüğü bir kez daha gözler önüne serilmeye çalışılacaktır. Bu depremde zarar gören bölgelere yurtiçinden ve yurtdışından çeşitli onlarca yardım eli uzanmıştır. Bunlar arasından öne çıkanlardan birisi de Çağdaş Yaşamı Destekleme Derneğinindir. Bu makale de Çağdaş Yaşamı Destekleme Derneğinin Depremzedelere ettiği maddi ve manevi yardımlardan bahsedilecektir. Dernek tarafından depremzedeler için yapılan bu yardımlar derneğin ismini duyurmasında büyük rol oynamıştır. Bu derneğin kurucusu Türkan Saylan’ın yapılan yardımlara katkılarından da bahsedilecektir.

In this article, the history of Association for the Support of Contemporary Living, which is an association that was formed in 1989 by a six-person board and aims for development to a contemporary society via contemporary education, is discussed. The association has been a part of many projects to educate the younger population about Atatürk’s principles, citizenship, and environmental awareness. The focus of this article will be the help this association, which usually works to solve issues about education, has lent to those affected after the 1999 earthquake. In order to see the how significant this aid was, the affects of the earthquake on the people of the areas and the damage it has caused in the areas it affected will be talked about, while also mentioning the tangible affects of the earthquake, and the psychological affect on the victims of the disaster, in aim to show the magnitudes of the tragedy of the earthquake. The areas affected in the earthquake received help from both within the country, and from abroad. One of the main contributions that stand out from amongst all of these isthat of Association for the Support of Contemporary Living’s. In this article, both the financial and the psychological aid received from Association for the Support of Contemporary Living will be touched upon. While doing so, we will be mentioning Türkan Saylan, one of the founders of the association a lot, and shining light to her contributions.
