dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST209) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.

dc.description.abstractTürkiye ve Pakistan birçok kültürel ve tarihi değeri paylaşıyor. Hem Türkiye'de hem de Pakistan'da ordu yönetime iki kez el koymuştur. İki darbe girişimi birbirini takip eden iki ya da üç yıl içerisinde gerçekleşmiştir. Bu olayları araştırmak bize Türkiye ve Pakistan arasındaki ilişkileri ve bu ilişkilerin temelindeki değerleri anlamamıza imkan sağlayacaktır.
dc.description.abstractTurkey and Pakistan share a lot of cultural and historical values. They also share a common history of military coups, where both Turkish and Pakistani governments have been overthrown within a time interval of 2-3 years twice throughout the countries’ history. Looking into these events will allow us to get valuable insight into Turkey and Pakistan's relations and the values these relations are build upon.
