Tarsus Amerikan Kolejinin yankısı: Echo Müzik Grubu

Abstract

1888 yılında Mersin’in Tarsus ilçesinde kurulan Tarsus Amerikan Koleji’nin öğrencileri tarafından 1960’larda kurulan “Echo” adlı müzik grubu, öğrenciler arasında nesilden nesile aktarılan bir gelenek haline gelmiştir. Öğrenciler Echo adı altında Türkiye’de ve farklı ülkelerde konserler vermişlerdir. Grubun üyelerinden daha sonra müzikte kariyer yapan ünlü sanatçılar bile çıkmıştır. Echo, günümüzde hala bir gelenek olarak okulun tüm sınıfları arasında sürdürülmeye, besteler yapmaya ve konserler vermeye devam etmektedir.

The music group “Echo”, founded in the 1960s by the students of Tarsus American College, which was established in Tarsus, a district of Mersin in 1888, has become a tradition passed down from generation to generation among the students. Students performed concerts in Turkey and in different countries under the name of Echo. Later, even some of the members of the group got a career in music and became famous. Today, Echo is still an ongoing tradition among the students of all the classes, composing and performing concerts.
