| dc.description | The History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards. | en_US |

| dc.description.abstract | Bulgaristan Komünist Partisi’nin iktidara gelmesinin ardından, başta Müslüman Türkler olmak üzere ülkedeki azınlıklara acımasız davranılarak ve baskı uygulayarak insanlar göç ettirmeye zorlanmıştır. 1950-1951 yıllarında yaşanan zorunlu Türk Göçü ’nün Türk-Balkan siyaseti üzerindeki etkileri ve bunun öncülüğünde Türk ailelerinin Türkiye’ye göç dönemi ve yaşanan sıkıntılar önemli bir olay haline gelmiştir. Bu göçe şahitlik eden Sabiha Kılık, henüz on üç yaşındayken ailesiyle Denizli’nin Goncalı köyüne göç etmiştir. Yaşadığı sosyo-ekonomik krizler, göçün psikolojik açıdan hayatı üzerindeki etkileri yaşamı boyunca görülmeye devam etmiştir. Bu araştırmada bu göçün nedenleri ve sonuçları yanında, Sabiha Kılık’ın göç öncesinde, sırasında ve sonrasında yaşadığı süreçlere değinilerek, baskılarla karşı karşıya kalan ve yaşadıkları zorlukların neticesinde Türkiye’nin Denizli iline zorunlu göç eden Sabiha Kılık ve ailesinin yaşadıkları incelenmiştir. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | After the Bulgarian Communist Party came to power, the minorities in the country, especially the Muslim Turks, were forced to migrate through brutality and persecution. Forced migration to Turkey, which is experienced in the years 1950-1951 and problems experienced, has become an actual incident for Turkish-Balkan politics and its impact on Turks' family migration. Sabiha Kılık, who witnessed this migration, immigrated to Goncalı which is located in Denizli with her family when she was only thirteen years old. The socio-economic crises she experienced and the psychological effects of migration on her life continued to be seen throughout her life. In this research, besides the reasons and consequences of this migration, the processes that Sabiha Kılık lived before, during, and after the migration were mentioned. Also, Sabiha Kılık and her family's experiences were examined when they were forced to migrate to Turkey's Denizli province as a result of being faced with pressures and difficulties. | en_US |
