dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.en_US

dc.description.abstractBu araştırmada Türk Havacılık tarihinde önemli bir yere sahip olan uçuş eğitmenliği sektörü üzerine durulmuştur. özellikle bu sektörün öncü kadın mensupları Dilek Ergüven, Emel Arman Karakaş ve Deniz ülke üzerinden incelenen konu, genel anlamda Türk Havacılığı ve pilotaj eğitmenliğini açıklayan kaynaklarla düzenlenmiştir. çalışmada sektördeki cinsiyet dengeleri de irdelenmiş olup, yazılı ve sözlü kaynaklarla ilk Türk kadın uçuş eğitmenleri üzerine bilgiler verilmiştir.en_US
dc.description.abstractIn this research paper, the main point of focus is the sector of flight instruction which has a significant place in the history of Turkish Aviation. The topic is inquired mainly through the female pioneers of the sector, namely Dilek Ergüven, Emel Arman Karakaş ve Deniz ülke, and is supported with sources regarding the general nature of Turkish Aviation and flight instruction. The equilibrium of genders in this area of expertise is also considered making use of both verbal and written sources, effectively presenting a study on the first female flight instructors in Turkey.en_US
