dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.

dc.description.abstractSanat Kurumu Derneği, Türkiye'nin çeşitli illerinden sanatseverlerin dikkatini çeken bir oluşumdur. Dernek, 1952 yılında kurulmuş olup sanatın yayılmasını ve gelişmesini hedefledi. Başlangıçta toplum tarafından samimi bir ortam olarak tanımlanan Sanatsevenler Kulübü, zaman içinde Türkiye'nin sanat ve kültür alanlarında büyük bir katkı sağladı. Sanatseverler Kulübü toplumdaki özellikle de Ankara’daki sanatseverlerin dikkatini çekmiş ve bu tip insanların bir araya gelebilmesini sağladı. Üye sayısını artırarak ülke genelinde etkinlikler düzenledi. Ayrıca, Türk Güzel Sanatları’nın tanıtımı için yurt içi ve yurt dışında faaliyetler gerçekleştirdi. Dernek, Ankara'da kurularak sanatçılar ve sanatseverler arasında yakın ilişkiler kurdu. Güzel Sanatların tiyatro ve plastik sanatlar gibi çeşitli dallarında ödüller verdi. Bunun yanı sıra dergi ve gazeteler aracılığıyla sanat konusunda toplumu bilinçlendirme çalışmaları yaptı, sanat materyallerini toplumun erişimine sunarak güzel sanatların yayılmasına katkıda bulundu. Dernek sonradan ünlenmiş birçok sanatçının ilk sergilerini açmasına veya söyleşiler düzenlemelerine olanak sağladı. Dernek, bugün de sanat ile ilgili çalışmalarına ödüller vererek ve sergiler düzenleyerek devam etmektedir.
dc.description.abstractSanat Kurumu Association is a formation that attracts the attention of art lovers from various cities in Turkey. The association was founded in 1952 and aimed to spread and develop the arts. Sanatsevenler Club, which was initially defined as a friendly environment by society, has made a great contribution to the fields of art and culture in Turkey over time. Sanatsevenler Club attracted the attention of art lovers in society, especially in Ankara, and enabled such people to come together. It organized events across the country by increasing the number of its members. In addition, it carried out activities in the country and abroad for the promotion of Turkish Fine Arts. The association was established in Ankara and established close relations between artists and art lovers. It gave awards in various branches of Fine Arts such as theater and plastic arts. In addition, it carried out activities to raise awareness of society on art through magazines and newspapers and contributed to the spread of fine arts by making art materials accessible to the public. The association enabled many famous artists to open their first exhibitions or organize interviews. Today, the association continues its works of art by giving awards and organizing exhibitions.
