Abstract

Nowadays, language teaching and learning process is an important inseparable part of education due to precipitous progress and development in science and technology. Thus, learning different foreign languages has emerged as a crucial part of life. Undoubtedly, the importance of materials in the process of teaching Turkish can be compared as the importance of numbers in mathematics. In this process, vocabularies play an important essential role as well as the importance of mathematical formulation in physics. The four basic language skills of reading, listening, speaking and writing are significantly dependent on how vast the vocabulary knowledge is. For this reason, the concept of basic vocabulary and the place of cultural objects in this vocabulary are very important. In this study, the necessity of preparing a word frequency syllabus in language teaching is emphasized by using the style of "Türkçe Okuyorum 1 (2015) and Türkçe Okuyorum 2 (2011)" story books used for A1 / A2 level students coming from DĠLMER publications and emphasizing the importance of transferring cultural objects in materials. In this respect, the vocabulary of the texts and the elements of the culinary arts are determined by the 'document review method'.
