Türkiye Fizyoterapistler Derneği 1969 yılında Ankara’da kurulmuştur. Hacettepe Üniversitesi Fizyoterapi ve Rehabilitasyon bölümünün ilk mezun öğrencilerinin bir araya gelmesiyle kurulan dernek ülkemizde fizyoterapistlerin iş birliği içerisinde mesleklerini icra etmelerine katkı sağlamak için kurulmuş, günümüzde ise Türkiye’nin en köklü ve en eski meslek örgütlerinden biri haline gelmiştir. Bu araştırmada Türkiye Fizyoterapistler Derneği’nin kuruluşundan günümüze olan süreç incelenmiştir. Çalışmada TFD başkanı Tülin Dülger’in anılarından, bilgilerinden ve derneğin yazılı basınlarından faydalanılmıştır. Ayrıca araştırma esnasında Fzt. Seyit Ali Aykaç ile de röportaj yapılmış, fizyoterapinin tarih sahnesindeki değişimleri ve ülkemizde fizyoterapi mesleği hakkında konuşulmuştur. Bu çalışmayla Türkiye Fizyoterapistler Derneği’nin, Türkiye’de fizyoterapi mesleğine getirdiği yenilikler ve sağladığı kolaylıkların daha iyi anlaşılması sağlanmıştır.

The Turkish Physiotherapists Association was established in 1969 in Ankara, Turkey. The association was founded by the first graduates of the Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Department at Hacettepe University, with the aim of facilitating collaboration among physiotherapists and contributing to the practice of their profession. Over time, it has become one of the oldest and most established professional organizations in Turkey. This research examines the process of the Turkish Physiotherapists Association from its establishment to the present day. The study draws on the memories and information of Tülin Düger, the president of the TPA, as well as written press materials from the association. Additionally, an interview was conducted with Seyit Ali Aykaç, a physiotherapist, to discuss the changes in the field of physiotherapy and the profession of physiotherapy in Turkey. This study provides a better understanding of the innovations and conveniences brought by the Turkish Physiotherapists Association to the profession of physiotherapy in Turkey.
