dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.en_US

dc.description.abstractİhsan Doğramacı Bilkent Üniversitesindeki HIST 200 dersi için yapılan bu çalışmada, çok eski bir bina olmasına rağmen tarihi birçok insan tarafından bilinmeyen Türkiye’nin tek belediye hastanesi olan Eşrefpaşa Hastanesi araştırıldı. İlk olarak hastanenin tarihi hastanenin kendi arşivindeki fotoğraflar kullanılarak incelendi. Daha sonra yine hastanenin kendi arşivinden ödünç alınan bir kitap kullanılarak hastanenin ilk kuruluş yılından günümüze kadarki tarihi ile ilgili bilgiler okunarak toplandı. Hastanenin yakın tarihiyle ilgili daha fazla bilgi toplayabilmek amacıyla hastanenin günümüzdeki başhekimi Ali Serdar Pedükcoşkun ile röportaj yapıldı.en_US
dc.description.abstractIn this study for HIST 200 course of Bilkent University, despite being a very old historic building which is Turkey's only municipal hospital unknown by many people, Eşrefpaşa Hospital was investigated. First, the history of the hospital was analyzed using the photographs in the hospital's own archive. Then, using a book borrowed from the hospital's own archive, information about the history of the hospital from the first establishment year to the present was gathered. An interview was held with the current chief physician of the hospital, Ali Serdar Pedükcoşkun, to gather more information about the hospital's recent history.en_US
