1950-1980 yılları arasında Büyükada'da sosyal yaşam

Abstract

Büyükada, İstanbul’un Adalar ilçesine bağlı yüzölçümü bakımından en büyük adasıdır. Aynı zamanda kozmopolit yapısı ve tabiatıyla adından sıkça söz ettiren Büyükada, Türkiye’deki sosyal ve siyasi olaylarla beraber çeşitli değişikliklere uğramıştır. 1. Dünya Savaşı, 6-7 Eylül Olayları ve Kıbrıs sorunu ile yaşanan göçler, Büyükada’nın demografik yapısının değişmesine neden olan 3 temel olay olmakla birlikte; Büyükada’ya yapılan göçler de Ada’nın dokusunu değiştirmiştir. Buna rağmen sanat hayatının önemli isimleri sık sık Büyükada’da bulunmuş ve sanatlarını orada icra etmişlerdir. Sanatçıların yanı sıra birçok esnaf ve çiftçi Büyükada’nın ekonomisine katkıda bulunmuş; bağ ve bahçeleriyle, plajlarıyla, otelleriyle, ve gazinolarıyla Ada’nın sosyo-ekonomik olarak gelişmesine neden olmuşlardır. Büyükada is the largest island in terms of surface area, connected to the Adalar district of Istanbul. At the same time, Büyükada, which is frequently mentioned with its cosmopolitan structure and nature, has undergone various changes with the social and political events in Turkey. While the First World War, the 6-7 September Events and the immigration with the Cyprus problem are the 3 main events that caused the demographic structure of Büyükada to change; Migrations to Büyükada also changed the function of the island. Despite this, the prominent members of the art congregation often visited Büyükada and performed their art there. Besides artists, many craftsmen and farmers contributed to the economy of Büyükada since they have caused the socio-economic development of the Island with its vineyards, gardens, beaches, hotels and casinos.
