Harekatların izinde bir yaşam: Necdet Gözkaya

27 Mayıs 1960 ile 12 Eylül 1980 yılları arasında yaşanan askeri harekatlar ve siyasi olaylar, Türkiye için oldukça çalkantılı bir süreçtir. Söz konusu dönem, günümüz başta olmak üzere etkilerini birçok alanda göstermiştir. Necdet Gözkaya da bu süreçte askeri görevler üstlenmiş ve Türkiye’nin siyasi tarihindeki değişimi yakından gözlemleme olanağı bulmuştur. Necdet Gözkaya, askerlik yaşamına 1960 ihtilalindeki subay rütbesi ile giriş yapmış ve emekli olacağı 1989 yılına kadar mesleğine devam etmiştir. Bu araştırmada, Necdet Gözkaya ile yapılan röportajdan, Necdet Gözkaya’nın kendi arşivinden, dönemin gazetelerinden ve ilgili kitap ve makalelerden yararlanılarak Necdet Gözkaya’nın yaşantısı ve içinde bulunduğu çalkantılı dönem anlatılmıştır. 1960-1980 yıllarında yaşanan olaylara bir askerin gözüyle bakmak, bu dönemi anlayabilmek için büyük bir önem taşımaktadır.

The political events and operations took place between May 27, 1960 and September 12, 1980 create one of the most tempestuous processes in the political life of Turkey. The effects of this period to Turkish political history can be easily observed, especially in the recent history. Since Necdet Gözkaya was participating in these operations as a soldier, he got the chance to observe both the operations and the following political events closely. Necdet Gözkaya, started his military life in 1960 with his commissioned officer rank and owned an active role until he retired in 1989. In this research, Necdet Gözkaya’s personal life and the tempestuous political events he has encountered were analyzed with the help of the interview done with Necdet Gözkaya himself and also through his archive consisting of pictures and news. Regarding the period, relevant books and articles were made use of as well. Considering the Necdet Gözkaya’s perspective as a soldier, his experiences are very important in order to understand the particular period.
