Körfez Savaşının Türk basınındaki yansımaları

Bu makalenin amacı; 1991 yılının Ocak ve Şubat aylarında cereyan eden Körfez Savaşı’nın Türkiye üzerinde yarattığı etkilerin uluslararası, iç politika ve ekonomi boyutları kapsamında Türk basını üzerinden incelenmesidir. Bu kapsamda, farklı sosyal ve politik cenahları temsil eden Cumhuriyet, Milliyet ve Millî Gazete’nin ilgili haber ve köşe yazıları incelenmiştir. Böylece Körfez Savaşı’nın Türkiye üzerinde yarattığı etkilerin değerlendirilmesinde farklı perspektiflerden yararlanılmış ve çeşitlilik sağlanmıştır. Çalışmada, her bir gazetenin elektronik ve fiziksel veri tabanları ilgili tarih aralıklarında taranmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda her bir gazetenin ,ortak paydalarda buluşsalar da, olaya bakış açılarının kaynağı ve motivasyonlarının farklı olduğu görülmüş, bu farklılıklar ortaya konulmuştur.

The purpose of this article is to examine the effects of the Gulf War, which took place in January and February of 1991, on Turkey through the Turkish press within the scope of international relations, domestic politics and economy dimensions. In this context, the relevant news and columns of Cumhuriyet, Milliyet and Millî Gazete newspapers representing different social and political sides are examined. Thus, different perspectives are used to provide diversity in the evaluation of the effects of the Gulf War on Turkey. In the study, the electronic and physical databases of each newspaper are dissected in the relevant date ranges. In the light of the research, it is seen that the source and motivation of each newspaper's perspectives on the event were different, even if they met on common denominators. This research reveals and points out those differences in approach.
