Kavaklıdere bölgesi kafe kültürü ve Cafe des cafes

Abstract

Modern anlamda sahip olduğumuz kent anlayışında sosyal ve kültürel aktivitelerde bulunabildiğimiz, topluluk ruhunu yakalayabildiğimiz ve en nihayetinde zaman geçirdiğimiz mekânlar büyük bir öneme sahiptir. Bu noktada, kafe olarak adlandırdığımız işletmeler şüphesiz ki modern kent ve mekân algımızı oluşturan sayılı faktörler arasında yer almaktadır. Öyle ki, söz konusu işletmeler yer yer kent içinde ki caddeleri, bölgeleri veya konumları tanımlamakta kullanılır. Şehir sakinlerinin yaşadıkları veya bulundukları bölgeleri bu işletmeler ile tanımlamaları son derece olağandır. Üstelik fiziksel boyutun ötesinde bir yaklaşım geliştirildiğinde görülmektedir ki, kafe olarak adlandırdığımız işletmeler kentler sakinlerinin ve dahi o kentin sakinlerinin parçası oldukları toplumların fikri gelişimlerini yönlendiren fikir alışverişlerine, entelektüel paylaşımlara ve yeşeren fikirlere ev sahipliği yapmaktadır. Bu araştırmada, ilk olarak kafelerin kentler ve topluluklar için tarihsel olarak sahip olduğu önemden ilham alınarak, kafe kültürü özelinde genel bir bağlamdan yola çıkılacaktır; ardından Türkiye Cumhuriyetinde ve Başkent Ankara’da ki kafe kültüründen devam edilerek, Kavaklıdere Bölgesi ve bu bölgede bulunan Cafe des Cafes isimli işletmede özelleşilecektir.

In our modern understanding of city, places where we spent time, obtain the community culture and participate in social and cultural activities have a great importance. At this point, the institutions which we call as cafes could be counted among the few factors that determines our perception of modern city and place. In fact, those institutions sometimes used for defining streets, districts and locations. Also, it is considered as a usual behavior for residents to define where they live or where they are by referring those institutions. Also when an approach, that has an understanding beyond physical sense developed, it has been seen that those institutions which we call as cafes; hosts exchange of ideas, intellectual sharing’s and flourishment of ideas that guides the intellectual development of city residents and even the societies. In this research, inspired by historical importance of cafes for cities and societies, a general context will be adopted in the sense of cafe culture. Following that a more specific context will be adopted starting from the sense of cafe culture in Republic of Turkey and Capital City Ankara continuing from the Kavaklıdere District and the institution called Cafe des Cafes which is located in that district.
