Abstract

Karadeniz Teknik Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi ve Farabi Hastanesi, ülkenin zor durumlardan geçtiği yıllarda ve büyük imkânsızlıklar içinde; Hacettepe Üniversitesi, İhsan Doğramacı, KTÜ'ye yardım vakfı ve bazı siyasilerin büyük gayretleriyle kurulmuştur. Bu imkânsızlıklar fakültenin ve hastanenin ilk yıllarında da devam etmiş, öğrenciler; hocalara, kitaplara ve hatta anabilim dallarına ideal bir şekilde erişememiştir. Ancak zamanla, koşulların da iyiye gitmesiyle beraber, KTÜ Tıp Fakültesi akademik olarak önemli başarılara imza atmış, bölge halkına büyük katkı sağlamıştır. Bu başarılar, tüm zorluklara rağmen fakültenin kurulmaya çalışılması çabasının heba olmadığını göstermektedir. Karadeniz Technical University Faculty of Medicine and Farabi Hospital was established while undergoing hardships, tough times and impossibilities by great efforts of Hacettepe University, İhsan Doğramacı, Help for KTU foundation and some politicians. Those impossibilities continued in the first years of the faculty and hospital. The students were not able to access to books, colleges and department of the medicine ideally. But at the same time as the conditions proceed, KTU Faculty of Medicine gains important successes and aids the people of the region. Those achievements show that despite all the difficulties, resources and time spent for the foundation of the faculty are not wasted.
