In this study, the effects of Turkish Locomotive and Engine Industry Inc. on Eskisehir are investigated from the perspectives of economics, culture and social constructs. The questions for this study were not only posed to understand the employees of the factory or the technology it developed, but also to grasp what and how TULOMSAS changed the lives of common people of Eskisehir. The outcomes of the breakthroughs made and the values that were reclaimed and preserved by TULOMSAS as the first heavy industrial factory of the emerging Turkish Republic for Eskisehir are analyzed. The experience Mustafa Koksal garnered as a graduate of The Apprentice School that was founded within TULOMSAS, as an employee of TULOMSAS for more than 20 years and as a representative of Turkey internationally in fencing while he was working for the factory is used in the study.
