Isparta’da gül yetiştiriciliğinin modernleşme süreci ve Gülbirlik

Abstract

Bu makale, Türkiye’nin gül yetiştiriciliğinde merkezi bir konuma sahip olan Isparta’da gül yetiştiriciliğinin modernleşme sürecini ve bu süreçte Gülbirlik Kooperatifi’nin kritik rolünü incelemektedir. 1954 yılında kurulan Gülbirlik Kooperatifi, geleneksel üretim yöntemlerini modern tarım teknikleri ve ileri işleme yöntemleriyle entegre ederek hem bölgesel kalkınmayı desteklemiş hem de Isparta’nın küresel gül üretiminde lider bir konuma ulaşmasını sağlamıştır. Çalışma, Gülbirlik’in kuruluşundan itibaren bölgedeki ekonomik ve sosyal dönüşümleri ele almakta; dönemin Ekonomi Bakanı Celâl Bayar’ın girişimiyle açılan fabrikalar, hükûmet destekleri ve yerel üreticilerin iş birliği sayesinde gül üretiminde yaşanan dönüşümü kapsamlı bir şekilde analiz etmektedir. Bunun yanı sıra, Gülbirlik’in Rosense markasıyla kozmetik sektöründeki başarısı ve gül ürünlerinin uluslararası pazarlardaki yeri vurgulanmaktadır. Makale, Gülbirlik Kooperatifi’nde yöneticilik pozisyonlarında görev yapmış kişilerle yapılan röportajlar ve akademik makalelerle desteklenerek modernleşme sürecinin bölge ekonomisi, sosyal yapısı ve kültürel kimliği üzerindeki etkilerini derinlemesine değerlendirmektedir.

This article examines the modernization process of rose cultivation in Isparta, which holds a central position in rose production in Turkey, and the critical role of the Gülbirlik Cooperative in this process. Established in 1954, the Gülbirlik Cooperative has integrated traditional production methods with modern agricultural techniques and advanced processing methods, thereby supporting regional development and enabling Isparta to achieve a leading position in global rose production. The study addresses the economic and social transformations in the region since the establishment of Gülbirlik; it comprehensively analyzes the transformation in rose production facilitated by factories opened through the initiative of the then Minister of Economy Celâl Bayar, government support, and the collaboration of local producers. Furthermore, the success of Gülbirlik in the cosmetics sector with its Rosense brand and the international market presence of rose products are emphasized. The article is supported by interviews conducted with individuals who have served in managerial positions at the Gülbirlik Cooperative and academic articles, providing an in-depth evaluation of the impact of the modernization process on the regional economy, social structure, and cultural identity.
