Türk eğitim-öğretiminde Set Ailesi

Türk eğitim ve öğretim sistemi köklü bir geçmişe sahiptir ve geçmişten günümüze kadar birçok yeniliğe ve gelişime şahit olmuştur. Set Ailesi, eğitim sistemini ileriye taşımaya kendini adamış, öğrencilere en iyi şekilde fayda sağlayabilmek amacıyla elinden gelen her şeyi yapmak için çaba sarf etmiş ve etmeyi sürdüren bir ailedir. Celâleddin Set, 43 yılını öğretmenliğe adamış ve bu süre boyunca Atatürk ilke ve inkılaplarına bağlı kalarak; hem okulun hem de öğrencilerin başarısı için velilerle ve çevresindekiler ile sağlam ilişkiler kurarak bu amacı doğrultusunda ilerlemiş ve başarılı olmuştur. Celâleddin Set’in kızı olan Olcay Set Uygunlar da babasının eğitim prensiplerinden etkilenerek onun yolundan ilerlemiş, öğretmenlik ve yöneticilik hayatı boyunca babasından edindiği bilgilerden faydalanmıştır. Bu araştırmada Celâleddin Set’in öğrencisi Rasim Özyürek ve kızı Olcay Set Uygunlar ile yapılan röportajlardan, Celâleddin Set’in kızı tarafından yazılmış biyografisinden ve çeşitli makale ve kitaplardan faydalanılarak, Set Ailesi üyelerinin öğretmenlik hayatlarından, okullara ve öğrencilere sağladıkları fayda ve ortaya koydukları yeniliklerden ve Celâleddin Set’in eğitimcilik kariyeri dışında gerçekleştirdiği faaliyetlerden bahsedilmiştir.

The Turkish education system has a long history and it has witnessed many innovations and developments from past to present. Set Family is a family who has dedicated themselves to carrying the education system forward, has made a full effort to benefit students in the best way, and continues to do so. Celâleddin Set devoted 43 years to teaching and during this period, by adhering to the principles and reforms of the Ataturk, he has built sound relationships with the parents of the students and the people around him for the success of both the school and the student success and he has progressed and succeeded along with this purpose. Olcay Set Uygunlar, who is the daughter of Celâleddin Set, is influenced by his father’s educational principles and followed his father’s path during her teaching and managerial career, she benefited from the information that she learned from her father. In this research, the teaching career of Set Family members, benefits and innovations they provide for the schools and students, and activities that Celâleddin Set has accomplished apart from his teaching career are mentioned with the help of interviews with Celâleddin Set’s student Rasim Özyürek and his daughter Olcay Set Uygunlar, the biography of Celâleddin Set written by his daughter, and by utilizing from various articles and books.
