This report comprehensively examines the historical development of the iron and steel industry in İskenderun and the impact of Tosyalı Holding in this sector. Starting from the establishment of İSDEMİR in the 1950s, its contributions to the regional economy and Turkey's industrialization are discussed. In addition to its regional contributions, İSDEMİR, which also had an impact on Turkey-USSR economic relations, is thoroughly examined. The report delves into the entry of Tosyalı Holding, founded in 1952, into the sector, how it distinguished itself in this industry, its innovative approaches, and its achievements in global markets. Furthermore, the socio-economic structure of the sector, its environmental effects, and public perceptions of the industry are emphasized. The report also provides insights into the cultural transformation in the region and the future of the industry.
