dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.en_US

dc.description.abstract“Kırım” ismi verilen yarımadada yüzyıllardır yaşamakta olan Kırım Tatarları, Anadolu topraklarına devamlı surette göç etmişlerdir. XIIX. ve XIX. yüzyıllarda kişi sayısı olarak en yoğun zamanlarını yaşamış olan bu göç hareketi, Kırım Tatarlarının Anadolu’daki nüfusu artmaya devam ettikçe onları çeşitli teşkilatlanma faaliyetlerine yöneltmiştir. Araştırmamızda Kırım Tatarlarının XX. yüzyılda gerçekleştirmiş oldukları bu teşkilatlanma faaliyetlerine odaklanılmış; kendilerini yönlendiren liderleri, oluşturdukları yayın organları başta olmak üzere çeşitli etkenler incelenmiştir. Asıl amacı Kırım Tatarlarının kültürünü yaşatmak, birlik ve beraberliklerini sağlamak olan derneklerinin kuruluş süreçleri ve faaliyetleri araştırılmış, bu araştırmanın sonucunda Kırım Tatarlarının Anadolu topraklarındaki teşkilatlanmaları ve bu teşkilatların kurumsallaşması süreci aydınlığa kavuşturulmuştur.en_US
dc.description.abstractCrimean Tatars have been living in the peninsula called “Crimea” for many centuries and they have been migrating to Anatolia since then. This migration reached its peak population on 18th and 19th centuries, which motivated them to perform various organization activities as their population kept increasing in Anatolia. In our research, these organization activities by Crimean Tatars have been the main focus and various factors including their leaders and their media organs, have been examined. Their associations have their original purpose as sustaining the culture of Crimean Tatars and maintaining their unity and solidarity. The period of their establishment and various activities of these associations have been researched. As the result of this research, organization period of Crimean Tatars in Anatolia and the institutionalization process of these organizations have been enlightened.en_US
