Binlerce saç bir müze: Galip Körükçü ve Saç Müzesi

Abstract

Nevşehir’in Avanos ilçesinde yaşamakta olan Galip Körükçü 5 nesillik aile geleneği olan çanak ve çömlekçilik işini icra etmektedir. Aldığı eğitimler sonucunda Avanos’a gelip çanak çömlekçiliğe devam eden Körükçü, turistik gezilerle birlikte ünü iyice artmış ve turistlere tanıtmış olduğu çömlekçilik Avrupa ve diğer çevrelerce popülerlik kazanmıştır. çanak ve çömlekçiliği öğretmek amacıyla Fransız acentesi ile (NF) anlaşma imzalamıştır. Bu süreçten sonra atölyesini “Chez Galip” olarak adlandırmıştır. Bugün içinde yaklaşık 16.000 farklı kadının saçını bulunduran “Saç Müzesi” adında bir müzeye sahiptir. Saç müzesi, Körükçü’ nün üç ay beraber vakit geçirdiği Fransız bir kadının evine dönerken Galip Körükçü’ nün bir tutam saçını istemesinden ilham alınıyor. Müze fikrine çok hakim olmayan Körükçü, dükkanına bir tutam saçı astıktan sonra ziyaret eden kadınların da bir tutam saçı görünce anı olarak bırakmak istemesiyle devam ediyor.

Galip Körükçü, who has born in a family that has been making pottery for a living for five generations in a row, now making potteries himself in Avanos, Nevşehir to continue this tradition. After finishing school and his pottery education that he has gotten from his father, he came to Avanos again. As he was styling the potteries different than the traditional ones made in Anatolia, he started to became famous not only in Turkey but also in abroad. Later on, he wanted to teach the craft to women as well, as pottery was thought to be only made by men in Anatolia. Therefore, he made a contract with a French agency and started giving pottery-making classes in his studio to only women. By the time, he is the first craftsman that has the name “Chez” that he has gotten from a French family, and started building Museum of Hair that is started with a French woman who gave him her hair as a farewell.
