dc.description.abstract | In this thesis, photodetection statistics of self phase modulated fields are examined. First and second order homodyne detection statistics are calculated and it is observed that self phase modulated multimode fields can exhibit more squeezing than single mode fields. A method is derived whereby heterodyne detection statistics of multimode self phase modulated fields can be calculated for any given modal expansion set. | en_US |
