dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.

dc.description.abstractBu makale Yılmaz ailesi üzerinden göç sürecini anlamayı amaçlamaktadır. Bu süreci anlamaya çalışırken yazılı kaynaklardan yararlanılarak göçe sebep olan etkenler araştırılmıştır. Buna ek olarak, doğrudan Yılmaz ailesinin yaşadıklarına tanık olmak için Yılmaz ailesi üyesi Zehra Tok ile röportaj yapılmıştır. Ayrıca göç sürecinde ve göç sonrasında yaşanan zorluklar, bu problemler için bulunan çözümler araştırılmıştır ve bu dönemi ayrıntılı anlayabilmek için, Yılmaz Ailesinin göç öncesi, göç sonrası ve göç sırasındaki yaşamı incelenmiştir. Yılmaz ailesinin adaptasyon süreci, ekonomik yaşantısı, kültürel ve sosyal hayatına değinilmiştir.
dc.description.abstractThe article aims to understand the migration from Bulgaria to Turkey in 1950-1951 with the example of the Yılmaz family. While analyzing this duration, the reasons for migration are clarified by the benefit of some written sources. In addition to that, an interview is done with Zehra Tok in order to be a witness to what the Yılmaz family had faced. Also, solutions for these difficulties are clarified. To understand this period in detail, the life of the Yilmaz Family before, after, and during migration has been examined. The adaptation process, economic life, and cultural and social life of the Yılmaz family are mentioned.
