| dc.description | The History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards. | |

| dc.description.abstract | 1945 yılında doğan ve 1966 yılında Ankara Üniversitesi Dil ve Tarih-CoğrafyaFakültesi’nden mezun olan Özer Ergenç, bir süre Siirt’te lise öğretmenliği yaptıktan sonra Ankara Üniversitesi Dil ve Tarih-Coğrafya Fakültesi’nde asistan olarak çalışmaya başlamıştır. Özellikle Osmanlı kent tarihçiliği alanında eserler veren Ergenç, halen İhsan Doğramacı Bilkent Üniversitesi Tarih Bölümü’nde lisans üstü dersleri vermektedir. | |
| dc.description.abstract | Ozer Ergenc was born in 1945 and graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Languages, History and Geography in 1966. After working as a high school teacher in Siirt for a while, he started to work as an assistant at Ankara University Faculty of Language, History and Geography. Ergenç, who especially works in the field of Ottoman urban history, is currently giving postgraduate lectures at Ihsan Dogramaci Bilkent University History Department. | |
