dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.en_US

dc.description.abstractBu yazıda 1989 Bulgaristan Zorunlu Göçü’nün göçmenler üzerinde bıraktığı etkilerden ve göçmenlerin hayatlarında meydana gelen değişikliklerden bahsedilmiştir. Başlangıçta, Bulgaristan’daki Türklerin durumu , önceki senelerde Bulgaristan’dan Türkiye’ye yapılmış göçlerle birlikte 1989 Bulgaristan Zorunlu Göçü’nün nedenleri ve göçmenlerin Türkiye’de karşılanmaları anlatılmıştır. Göçe hazırlık ve göç süreçleri, göçmenlerle yapılan görüşmelerle birlikte sunulmuş ve göç sürecindeki ulaşım sorunu ve akabinde Türkiye’de ikamet konularına değinilmiştir. Göçmenlerin kurmuş olduğu Göçmen Konutları’nın nasıl kurulduğu, özellikleri ve günümüzdeki durumu hakkında bilgi verilmiştir. Göçmenlerin sosyokültürel durumları, Türkiye halkının göçmenlere tepkileri ve Türk hükümetinin göçmenlere karşı tutumundan söz edilmiştir. Yazının ek kısmında, beş Bulgaristan göçmeni ile gerçekleştirilen röportajlarımızın dökümü mevcuttur.en_US
dc.description.abstractThis paper contains information about the 1989 migration of Turkish people who lived in Bulgaria back to Turkey. It focuses on how the immigration affected the aforementioned people and how the life on Turkey differed from the one in Bulgaria. The paper starts off with the general outlook on Turkish people who lived in Bulgaria, the several migrations to Turkey that happened before 1989, the reasoning behind the 1989 migration and how the Turkey has welcomed them. The process of preparing for the migration and the migration itself has been delivered by the interviews we have conducted with the immigrants of 1989. The concerns of transportation, housing and many more have been dealt with in this study. One of the other things this paper achieves is to talk about an apartment complex that is entirely made up of immigrants from the 1989 migration which still keeps its structure today. This paper contains prudent information about this complex called ‘Göçmen Kentler Sitesi’, its qualities, demographics and its status today. The sociocultural status of the immigrants, the reaction of Turkish people in Turkey and the Turkish government’s attitude towards the immigrants which portrays the different connotations with word ‘immigrant’. The end of the study contains the 5 interviews with the 5 immigrants.en_US
