| dc.description | The History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards. | |

| dc.description.abstract | Bu araştırma, 12 Eylül sonrası dönemde TRT'nin ideolojik yönlendirmeler doğrultusunda nasıl bir dönüşüm geçirdiğini, eğlence programlarının bu bağlamda nasıl şekillendiğini ve toplum üzerindeki etkilerini incelemektedir. Ayrıca, bu süreçte yaşanan dönüşümün Türkiye'nin medya tarihinde dönüm noktası sayılan ilk özel televizyon kanalı Star TV'nin kuruluşuna kadar olan etkilerini de ele almaktadır. Bu bağlamda eğlence programlarının ideolojik mesajlarla nasıl şekillendiği ve toplumsal bilinç üzerindeki yansımaları değerlendirilmiştir. | |
| dc.description.abstract | This research examines how TRT underwent an ideological transformation post-coup period, how entertainment programs were shaped within this framework, and the impact on society. The study also addresses the influence of this period between 1980 and 1990 on Turkish media history, up to the establishment of Star TV, the first private television channel in Türkiye, considered a turning point in the country’s media landscape and evaluates how ideological messages shaped entertainment programs and their reflections on social consciousness. | |
