dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.en_US

dc.description.abstractDaha önce American Board'a bağlı olan Amerikan Kolejleri 1968 yılında Sağlık Eğitim Vakfı'na bağlanmıştır. Sağlık Eğitim Vakfı, Türkiye'deki Amerikan Kolejlerini bir araya toplayarak ulusal ve uluslararası eğitimde dinamik bir yapı benimsemek için kurulmuştur. Vakfın temel amaçlarından biri Amerikan Kolejlerindeki eğitimi daha kapsayıcı ve sürdürülebilir kılmaktır. Bu çalışma, Amerikan Okulları'nın American Board'dan ayrılıp SEV'e bağlanma sürecini inceleyecek ve SEV'in kuruluşunun Amerikan Okullarının 150 yıllık geleneğini devam ettirme noktasında ne kadar başarılı olduğunu değerlendirecektir.en_US
dc.description.abstractAmerican Colleges in Turkey, which were formerly affiliated to the American Board, were affiliated to Sağlık Eğitim Vakfı in 1968. Sağlık Eğitim Vakfı was established to gather the American Colleges in Turkey to adopt a dynamic structure in national and international education. One of the main goals of Sağlık Eğitim Vakfı is to bring the education in American Colleges to a more inclusive and sustainable point. This study will examine the process of American Colleges in Turkey leaving the American Board and joining SEV and will evaluate how successful the establishment of SEV was in continuing the 150-year tradition of American Schools.en_US
