dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.en_US

dc.description.abstract1990'larda ve 2000'lerin başında özel ihtiyaçları olan kişilerin hakları Türkiye'de daha yaygın olarak bilinmeye ve kabul edilmeye başlanmıştır. Bu geçiş döneminde Ayşegül Ataman öneml bir figür haline gelmiştir. 1946 yılında Gaziantep’te doğan Ayşegül Ataman, Türkiye'de kaynaştırma uygulamaları ve özel eğitim konusunda önemli çalışmalar yapmış ve çok sayıda makale yayınlamış, bu alanda tanınmış bir uzmandır. 1984 yılında Gazi Üniversitesinde özel eğitim bölümünü kurmuştur. Ataman, akademik çalışmalarının yanı sıra Türkiye'deki engelli hakları hareketine önemli katkılarda bulunmuştur. Prof. Dr. Ayşegül Ataman'ın Türkiye'nin özel eğitim alanındaki çalışmaları, engelli öğrencilerin eğitim olanaklarını önemli ölçüde iyileştirmiş ve kaynaştırma öğretim yöntemlerini teşvik etmiştir. Ayşegül Ataman, değerli katkılarıyla Türkiye’de özel eğitimi ileriye taşımış ve bu sayede Türk toplumunun gelişimine destek olmuştur.
dc.description.abstractIn the 1990s and early 2000s, the rights of people with special needs became more widely known and accepted in Turkey. Ayşegül Ataman has become an important figure in this transition period. Ayşegül Ataman, born in Gaziantep in 1946, has done important studies and published many articles on inclusive practices and special education in Turkey, and is a well known expert in this field. In 1984, he established the special education department at Gaz University. In addition to his academic studies, Ataman made significant contributions to the disability rights movement in Turkey. Prof. Dr. Ayşegül Ataman's work in Turkey's special education field has significantly improved the educational opportunities of students with disabilities and encouraged inclusive teaching methods. Ayşegül Ataman, with her valuable contributions, took special education forward in Turkey and thus supported the development of Turkish society.
