dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.

dc.description.abstractYeşilburç köyü, Türkiye'nin tarihî dokusuna önemli katkılarda bulunan köylerden biridir. Özellikle 20. yüzyılın başında gerçekleşen mübadele süreci, köyün tarihinde önemli bir dönüm noktası olmuştur. Mübadele, Türk ve Yunan hükümetleri arasında yapılan bir anlaşma sonucunda Türklerin Yunanistan'dan, Yunanların ise Türkiye'den zorunlu göç etmesiyle gerçekleşmiştir. Bu süreç, Türkiye'nin demografik yapısını önemli ölçüde etkilemiştir. Yeşilburç köyü de bu dönemde Yunanistan'dan gelen mübadillerin yerleştirildiği köylerden biridir. Mübadele sonrasında köye yerleşen mübadillerle yerli halk arasında kültürel etkileşimler yaşanmış ve köyün sosyal dokusunda önemli değişiklikler olmuştur. Bu araştırma, Yeşilburç köyünün mübadele sırası ve sonrasındaki tarihî, kültürel ve sosyal gelişimini incelemektedir.
dc.description.abstractYeşilburç Village is one of the villages that have made significant contributions to Turkey's historical fabric. Especially the population exchange process that took place in the early 20th century marked a significant turning point in the village's history. The population exchange occurred as a result of an agreement between the Turkish and Greek governments, leading to the compulsory migration of Turks from Greece to Turkey and Greeks from Turkey to Greece. This process had a substantial impact on Turkey's demographic structure. Yeşilburç Village was one of the villages where Greek immigrants were resettled during this period. Following the population exchange, there were cultural interactions between the resettled immigrants and the local population, leading to significant changes in the village's social fabric. This research examines the historical, cultural, and social development of Yeşilburç Village during and after the population exchange.
