dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.en_US

dc.description.abstractElektrik Elektronik Mühendisliği Bölümü, 1986 yılında Bilkent Üniversitesi’nin ilk bölümlerinden biri olarak eğitim hayatına açılmıştır. Bilkent EEM, bölümün ilk başkanı olan Abdullah Atalar ve diğer öncü akademisyenlerin ge tirdiği yenilikler ile Türkiye’deki diğer üniversitelerin lisans ve lisansüstü eğitimlerini derinden etkilemiştir ve elektrik elektronik mühendisliği eğitiminin günümüzdeki hâlini almasını sağlamıştır. Ayrıca Türkiye’deki akademide var olan dünyayla yarışamama paradigmasını yurt dışından bölüme gelen ve araştırmalarını Bilkent’te devam ettiren hocaların getirdiği araştırma kültürü sayesinde kırarak Türkiye’nin akademik araştırmalar açısından da eksikliklerini gidermiş ve ciddi araştırmaların gerçekleştirildiği bir ülkeye dönüşmesine katkı sağlamıştır.en_US
dc.description.abstractDepartment of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was opened in 1986 as one of the first departments of Bilkent University. With the innovations brought by Abdullah Atalar, head of the EEE department at the time , and various other professors; Bilkent EEE has deeply influenced the undergraduate and graduate education of other universities in Turkiye, and these innovations enabled the electrical and electronics engineering education to take its current form. In addition, thanks to the research culture brought by the professors who came from distinct universities abroad to Bilkent EEE departmendepartment and continued their research here, Turkish academy has overcome the paradigm of not being able to compete with the world and thus eliminating the deficiencies in terms of academic research and contributing to its transformation into a country where serioserious research is carried out.en_US
