dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.en_US

dc.description.abstractTrabzonspor oldukça köklü tarihiyle futbol camiasında önemli başarılara imza atmış bir takımdır. 1967 yılında kulübü oluşturan İdmanyurdu ve İdmangücü takımları arasındaki rekabetle başlayan Trabzonspor, sürekli gelişme arzusu ile Anadolu takımlarının da İstanbul takımları kadar başarılı olabileceğini gösterdiler. Bu uğurda Türk futboluna kattıkları önemli isimlerden biri de Hüseyin Tok oldu. 1952 yılı Trabzon doğumlu Hüseyin Tok gençliğinde Çarşıbaşıspor kulübünde futbol hayatına ilk adımını attı ve ardından Trabzonspor kulübünde oynamaya başladı. Burada özellikle 1975-1978 yılları arasında art arda şampiyonluklar elde etti. Aynı zamanda bu süreçte beş maç art arda attığı 61. dakika golleriyle kendisine 61 Hüseyin lakabını kazandırdı, efsane oldu. Oyunculuk yıllarından sonra da Trabzonspor adına yönetim pozisyonlarında katkı sağladı.
dc.description.abstractTrabzonspor, with its deep-rooted history, is a team that has achieved significant success in the football community. Thanks to the desire for continuous improvement that started with the rivalry between İdmanyurdu and İdmangücü teams that formed the club in 1967, they showed that Anatolian teams can be as successful as Istanbul teams. One of the important names they added to Turkish football for this cause was Hüseyin Tok. Hüseyin Tok, who was born in Trabzon in 1953, took his first step into football life in Çarşıbaşı club in his youth and then started to play in Trabzonspor club. Here, he won consecutive championships, especially between 1975-1978. At the same time, he earned the nickname 61 Hüseyin with his 61st minute goals scored in five consecutive matches during this period and became a legend. After his active years as a player, he contributed to Trabzonspor in management positions.en_US
