dc.description | The History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards. | en_US |

dc.description.abstract | Tütün, üretim ve tüketim bakımından tarih öncesine dayanan bir geçmişe sahiptir. Günümüzde de tüketimi aktif bir şekilde devam ederken tütünün tarihine, üretim ve tüketim aşamasına hakim olan bir uzmanlık alanının varlığı gereklidir. Bu gereklilikten tetiklenerek tütün eksperliği; tütünün tarihine, tohum aşamasından yaprağına, muhafazasından pazarlamasına kadar uzmanlığa sahip olan bir meslek grubu olarak var olmuştur. Ancak tütün eksperliğine verilen değer ve eksperlerin meslek sahaları ekonomik, sosyal ve siyasal sebeplere bağlı olarak azalmıştır. Eksperler için en çalışma alanı olarak var olan TEKEL’in özelleştirilmesi ile meslek olarak tütün eksperliği neredeyse kaybolmuştur. | |
dc.description.abstract | Tobacco has a prehistoric history in terms of production and consumption. While today's consumption continues actively, a proffesion about te history, the production and consumption stages of tobacco must exist. Being triggered from this reason, Tobacco expertise exist as a proffesional field knowledged about the history of tobacco, the seeds to leaves, the preservation to marketing. The importance of tobacco expertise, which centeres on tobacco, has also changed in a direct connection with these periods of decline and incline. However, its effectiveness and importance in these years decreased due to economic, social and political reasons and almost disappeared with the privatization of TEKEL, which was the largest working area for experts. | |
