dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.

dc.description.abstractBu makale, 1990-2000 döneminde Türk medyasında kadın spikerlerin yeri ve Türkiye Radyo Televizyon Kurumuna (TRT) yansımasını incelemektedir. Araştırma, Türk televizyonculuğunun bu dönemdeki gelişimini, kadın spikerlerin mesleki rollerini ve medya kuruluşlarındaki cinsiyetçi algıları ele almaktadır. TRT'nin kadın spikerlerin işe alınması, mesleki gelişimi ve toplumdaki algısı üzerindeki etkileri incelenmiştir. Bu çalışma, Türk medya tarihinde kadın spikerlerin yaşadığı değişimleri ve dönemin toplumsal cinsiyet dinamiklerini anlamak için bir kaynak olmayı amaçlamaktadır
dc.description.abstractThe existence of female news anchors in Turkish media and their opinions of Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT) in the 1990s and 2000s are examined in this article. This research looks at how Turkish television evolved at this time, the professional responsibilities of female news anchors, and how gender is viewed in media companies. This research looks into how TRT affects the hiring of female news anchors, their career advancement, and how the public views them. The purpose of this work is to serve as a resource for comprehending the gender dynamics of the time and the changes that female news anchors in Turkish media history had to deal with.
