Although gramophones that emerged with the development of phonograph were widespread in many parts of the world for a period, today they have lost their popularity. Living in Ankara, Abdulkadir Akcan, is one of the last gramophone repairers in Turkey and he is reviving the gramophones that are now considered as antiques. Abdülkadir Akcan, who has been interested in tinkering since his childhood, met gramophones in Belpınar Village and became interested in gramophones and tinkering them. In the following years, Akcan, who continued his professional life as an ambulance driver, quit this job before retiring and established a warehouse and later a workshop for gramophone repair and record collection in Pirinç Han. Today, Abdülkadir Akcan, who became famous over time, still works as a gramophone repairer.en_US
